I know that the UK doesn’t exactly have the best reputation for great weather. But at the moment it’s getting a bit silly. It’s mid May and I’m freezing cold! It’s about 11C outside at the moment (that’s about 52F for those who don’t know) and it wasn’t a lot warmer than that today.
By now we should be hitting 20 degrees at least, surely?! Getting tanned and warmed up. Weather obviously has other ideas at the moment. Especially assome parts of the country had snow this week… snow!!!
I’m getting rather fed up with it, as you can probably tell. It’s almost enough to make you emmigrate!
Firstly, let me start on a positive note. Over the last week, I managed to lose 2lb. I had been really trying, there were a few slip ups, but I did a couple of sessions of Zumba to try and even things out, and it seems to have worked.
However, today I have been really struggling. Well I was doing alright, I had a really good day with my food and only had 2.5 syns so far but still eat quite a bit. Unfortunately, I have had a massive craving for chocolate all afternoon. After work, I succumbed to this craving and bought some, and not just a little bit either. Right now I am feeling rather guilty about it to be honest.
I should have known that I would not be able to trust myself and not gone shopping in the first place, but it’s done now and it’s eaten. Now I will just have to try and do some damage control for the rest of the week.
I don’t know why I do it to myself, every so often I get this craving for things that just won’t go away. It’s probably an emotional thing, there are a lot of little things that have been bugging me of late. So it’s probably comfort eating of sorts. I just wish I could stop. I need something to help curb the cravings so I can keep to my diet a lot better. Otherwise I’m never going to get to the weight that I want!
I’m going to have to really think about this and try and figure it out, otherwise it can only get worse!
As I said in my post yesterday, I am starting to take photos of the things I eat during the day to help me with my diet. Hopefully it’ll work. They are being instantly added to Instagram, but I’m going to collect them together on here as well.
So today went as follows…
Lunch tends to be a snack based affair as I’ve never been good at eating early in the morning. So I end up eating something when I’ve started work. Today it consisted of a fat free mango yogurt, banana and a choc fudge Alpen light bar.
However this evening I went out for a meal with a friend and succumbed to a burger and a chocolate brownie. Luckily I’m going to London for the day tomorrow and will hopefully walk some of it off!
I literally just weighed myself and thought I’d post the update on here. I’ve lost 1.5 lb this week, which I am very pleased about.
Considering I hadn’t stuck to my syns and what not. Hopefully it won’t bit me on the bum next week instead.
This next week I am going to try my hardest to make the right choices. Even though I am going to be having meals out and going to my parents. I am going to try my hardest to keep within my limits.
Otherwise, if I start putting weight on again, I’m only going to blame myself and beat myself up over it and that won’t help anyone!
I’m going to start posting my food on Instagram regularly too. I’m hoping that this visual food diary will help me identify where I might go wrong. Especially as I seem to occasionally have a blind spot when it comes to bad food. I have eaten cupcakes and then a few hours later forgotten all about it!
I’ll collate all the pictures from there into a blog post, so if you are a fellow Slimming World person I can share some recipes with you.
